Raul Boggio, M.D

 Raul Boggio, M.D., is Vice-President of Physicians Independent Management Services, Inc. (PIMS). 

Born and raised in Lima, Peru, Dr. Boggio has been a board certified pathologist in anatomic pathology since 1974.  He obtained further certification in clinical pathology in 1975 and certification in hematology in 1985.  He received his pre-medical degree and medical degree from San Marcos University in Lima, Peru. He worked for two years in a Regional Hospital, in Puno, Peru and then moved to the US where and did his pathology residency at the University of Alabama in Birmingham.  Dr. Boggio also completed a fellowship in surgical pathology at Mallory Institute of Pathology in Boston, Massachusetts and an additional fellowship in hematopathology at Cleveland Metropolitan General Hospital and Highland View Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio.

Dr. Boggio spends the majority of his practice at Town & Country Hospital in Tampa, Florida, an IASIS facility, where he has served as the Medical Director – Department of Pathology since 1991.  He is on staff at six additional hospitals in the Tampa Bay Metro Area, including Kindred Hospital – St. Pete and Kindred Hospital – Manhattan, where he serves as the Medical Director over both laboratories.  Dr. Boggio is a member of numerous medical and pathology associations, including the College of American Pathologists, the American Society of Clinical Pathologists, the American Medical Association, the Hillsborough County Medical Association, the International Society of Dermatopathology, the Florida Medical Association, the Latin Medical Association, the Peruvian American Medical Society, and the Florida Society of Pathologists.  He also has the distinction of serving as an inspector for the College of American Pathology.
