Pims Physicians Independent Management Services

Chris Hazelwood serves as the Chief Financial Officer for Physicians Independent Management Services, Inc. (PIMS).  As CFO, Mr. Hazelwood is directly responsible for all financial aspects of the company, in addition to driving business development efforts, corporate strategy, strategic initiatives and data analytics.   Mr. Hazelwood is further active in overseeing the creation of new product lines and streamlining the company’s operations, while working to expand PIMS’ efforts in the areas of information technology and innovation.

Prior to joining PIMS, Mr. Hazelwood served as Controller at Focus Management Group, a nationwide business consulting firm, supporting a team of over 100+ business professionals. In this capacity, Mr. Hazelwood was responsible for the financial oversight and management of an elite turn-around and restructuring firm. In addition, Mr. Hazelwood was responsible for the financial reporting and analysis of several other entities covering broad based industry classes including medical research, venture capital, commercial real estate and equipment leasing.

Mr. Hazelwood began his career as an Auditor for PricewaterhouseCoopers, L.L.P., where he was responsible for performing audits on a variety of public and private companies. During his tenure, he was instrumental in the performance of financial statement auditing and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance for a leading S&P 500 energy company.  Mr. Hazelwood also acquired financial accounting expertise in the healthcare, technology and logistical sectors.

A graduate of the University of Florida, Mr. Hazelwood obtained his Master of Accounting degree from the Fisher School of Accounting. He is licensed as a CPA by the Florida Board of Accountancy and holds a Fraud Examiner certification from the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.

Recently, Mr.Hazelwood was named the 2012 CFO of the Year by Tampa Bay Business Journal.
